Victor Vu - Guitar Teacher
I would like to offer you my expertise in music and classical guitar performance experiences if you are interested in taking guitar lessons as personal hobby or professional development. I am flexible in adapting my teaching style and technique to help you successfully achieve your goals. I shall teach you to play the musical piece you love, improve your guitar technique, master your theory knowledge and build up your practice routine.
Guitar is my passion that has been fortunately followed a great part of my life since I was 12 years old. I started learning guitar with a music professor who taught me to gain an entry into the National Conservatory of Music in Saigon, Vietnam - where I devoted a full decade studying and developing the art of playing classical guitar, music harmony, counter point and composition techniques with the most respectable classical guitar teachers and composers of the country at the time.
Classical guitar isn't only limited to classical music playing Bach and Chopin! You certainly can play a wide range of styles, whether it will be classical, Latin, Jazz or even Pop. It uses nylon-strings so you won't hurt your fingertips as much as steel-string guitar. Classical guitar uses four fingers on the right hand (p, i, m, a) therefore you are not limited to one guitar pick, meaning you can play a lot more notes at once! It's not too difficult to learn as long as you believe you can do it. Classical guitar offers a warm, smooth, addictive sound that lends itself to the most beautiful of tones based on the type of wood and the type of strings the guitar used. Classical guitar is indeed an enchanting instrument ever created that has generated so much reputation all over the world for centuries.
I look forward to sharing with you musical knowledge and classical guitar passion that have lived in my heart over the past decades.

what our students say. . .
"Lean your body forward slightly to support the guitar against your chest, for the poetry of the music should resound in your heart."
There is a deep mystery in your sonorous. Garden heart, guitar of mine,
I have been a student of Victor Vu for some 12 months and it is a pleasure to offer this testimonial to his skill as a teacher of the classical guitar. To begin with, Victor is a master of both the guitar and the classical repertoire which is coupled with his own outstanding musicianship. Importantly for a student, Victor is also a natural and skillful teacher who recognizes that students will have their own singular talents and challenges to learning the guitar. With patience, passion and enthusiasm, Victor will find a student’s best learning path, always grounded in the classical technique, and enhanced with his own intuitive solutions to the hurdles that any student must face. Victor is most genuine in sharing his knowledge and love of the guitar. He goes far beyond in the giving of his time and energy to help students progress to best of their ability, and beyond, and to enjoy the guitar and its beautiful music.
I have no hesitation in recommending Victor to students of any age who wish to begin or continue learning the classical guitar at any level.
Victor has been teaching guitar to my daughter Sarina Lee for the past 2 years, since she was in Year 1.
I began guitar lessons with you about 5 or 6 months ago, clueless about playing music. You have been very patient with me and put in so much passionate effort week after week to share your musical talents. I have learnt so much in a short period of time and am very grateful to have a teacher like you. Thank you.
Working with Victor has been an invaluable and rewarding learning experience.
I started learning guitar from Victor as a total beginner. For the past months Victor has been a great teacher; he is passionate, attentive and encouraging. He would cater every lesson to your needs and take time to explain or show how something is done. I could tell that he is really dedicated to playing and teaching guitar. I would definitely recommend Victor for anyone thinking of picking up guitar.
"Having Victor as my Guitar teacher has been such a tremendous help in all aspects of my playing.
